A qualified Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce from Macquarie University, Matt brings specialist experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and capital raising. He is also Chairman and founder of the Findex Community Fund, which has raised over $2 million for health, education and entrepreneurship causes since 2018.

Lloyd's extensive involvement with West Harbour spans over four decades, including roles as player, manager, coach, and board member, with a previous presidential term from 1999–2006. His professional background includes 27 years at Caltex/Ampol in senior management positions, including National Credit Manager Card and Acting National Customer Service Manager. Lloyd holds an Advanced Certificate in Management and is a Justice of the Peace (NSW). As President, he represents the club at Sydney Rugby Union and builds vital sponsor relationships.

Erik Lucis

Director since 2021, Secretary since 2023. Erik brings 35 years of human resources and work health and safety solutions experience across local, national, and international organisations. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Statistics & IT from Macquarie University and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from CSU. As a Chartered Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Erik served as Group HR & WHS Manager at Suttons Motors Group until his retirement in 2025. A Burwood resident for almost 40 years, he has been a passionate Pirates supporter since moving to the area.

Tom combines distinguished playing credentials with business expertise, having captained West Harbour's first grade for four years and earned over 100 caps for the Pirates, including the A.L. Vincent Trophy in 2014. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Diploma of Business Development Executive. With over 15 years as a business development executive and current role as Business Solutions Manager at Findex, Tom provides strategic oversight of the club's rugby programs, manages coaching staff, and fosters positive club culture while developing player pathways across all grades.

Mark Atkinson

Mark is an Applied Scientist and Executive Leader with over 15 years of experience in optimising health, talent development and high performance. He holds an MPhil in Epidemiology, Injury Prevention and Technology Integration, Honours Research Degree in Biomechanics, and BSc in Sports and Exercise Science. Mark spent 8 years in professional rugby with Bath Rugby in the English Premiership and Rugby Football Union, developing talent pathways and performance science. Currently Vice President of Science, Technology and Services for Wellsphere, he leads AI-driven people health and performance platforms. Mark oversees West Harbour's Colts and pathways programs.

Jill is Global Executive General Manager, Technical Services at GHD, bringing over 30 years of infrastructure sector experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons1) from UNSW and Master of Urban & Regional Planning from University of Sydney. Jill is passionate about sport's role in building inclusive communities and brings expertise in inclusion and diversity in the workplace. She serves as non-executive director with Bridge Housing and RedR Australia, and chairs an Urban Research Trust at University of Sydney. Her focus areas include community engagement, strategy, inclusion and diversity, and board skill development.

Currently the Executive Manager of Visitor Experience, Major Venues & Events at Ku-ring-gai Council, she specializes in managing large-scale programs that foster teamwork, leadership, and collaboration. Melanie is recognized for a leadership style that is transparent, empathetic, and collaborative, with a particular talent for building enduring relationships with stakeholders, volunteers, and community leaders. Passionate about the intersection of sport, economic development, and community wellbeing, Melanie provides the Board with executive-level insight into business strategy and direction, ensuring the Pirates continue to strengthen their engagement and impact across the Inner West.

Director – Application & Nomination Process

There are two pathways to becoming a Director of West Harbour Rugby:

  1. Nomination & Election at the AGM – Members may be nominated and elected at the Annual General Meeting.
    The required Nomination Form must be submitted for AGM nominations.
  2. Board Appointment (Skills-Based) – The Board may appoint Directors at any time to fill specific skills, experience, or portfolio needs.
    These opportunities are advertised when required.

All Directors—whether elected or appointed—must complete a Director Consent Form .
