Club Colours

Sequence of Wests Rugby club colours:-
1900 – Maroon and white was registered but never used as clashed with Glebe who were maroon.
1900-1907 Pale blue and white to replace the maroon to represent Parramatta. Pale blue and white was and still are Parramatta Council’s official colours.
1908-1909 Green. No-one knows why but the president’s name was Green and the secretary’s was Ireland.
1910-1914 Reverted to pale blue and white
1915-1919 The club was in abeyance due to the suspension of club Rugby during World War I.
1920-1994 Black and white. This was to copy Western Suburbs League as league was now entrenched in Sydney at the expense of Rugby.
1995-present Black, white and red. The red was added to show the original maroon and to denote Drummoyne which is the renamed old Glebe-Balmain club.
