It is with great sadness we would like to pay our respects to Matthias Tutunoa who tragically passed away on Sunday.
Matthias was a valued and well loved member of the West Harbour Rugby Community having played 33 colts games between 2015 - 2016 most of which were 1st Grade colts games, he played in the back-row and was an absolute devastating and fearless ball carrier and defender. Matthias also was part of the touring squad to South Africa in 2016.
Described by his friends as: “Staunch & always had his mates back . He was a soldier on and off the field. A Quiet guy , but once you got to know him , he was the funniest person in the room.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with Matthias’ family and friends. RIP ... See MoreSee Less
Wish you, Jess and Ellie all the best for the next chapter. Saturday rugby days will look different. Enjoyed the coffee, chats and check-ins. Won't miss the 1st Grade knock on the change room door with the bellowing "Righty-O West Harbour" which broke my ear drums😆. Enjoy life🖤🤍❤️
Champion bloke and a great contribution to the Club over many years. Enjoy the next chapter mate.
All the best legend
Hopefully we cross paths sooner rather than later
Thank you old boy all the best for your next adventure
One of the greats! All the best Clint Hill.
All the best Clint. Thanks for everything you have done for West Harbour Pirates
Top notch bloke👏👏will never forget the relentless Malcolms in the rain, just legendary!! Thanks Clint, till we meet again.
We are extremely excited to announce the signing of Ale Aho for the 2025 season. Ale joins the club off the back of representing Otago in the NPC competition as well as his club side Otago University. Aho was also a New Zealand u19 representative in 2022.
A big, mobile lock originally from Auckland, Aho stands at 1.99m tall and 132kg and only 21 years old. His potential has been noticed with him being on the extended training squad for the NSW Waratahs.

As draws go, that’s a favourable draw.
