Beautiful day out at St. Luke’s Oval North yesterday with our Colts. Grateful for all the coaching staff — including assistants and managers — and everyone behind the scenes doing their bit to keep West Harbour moving forward. It takes a lot of people, and a lot of their time, to make a club like this tick. Wishing everyone in the West Harbour family a great long Easter weekend. Onward and upward!

As we celebrate 125 years of West Harbour Rugby, this milestone reminds us that our club has been built by many—from every era, every jersey, every position.

This week, we were saddened to learn of the recent passing of Sam Felemi, a former Wests player who came through our Colts program in 2013 and 2014 and later played Grade.

“Sam was a talented young rugby player whether he was playing centre or wing, with great feet, foot speed and an offload that would put other players into space and challenge any defense line. More than that though, he was the big smile and laughter in the team that brought everyone together. It was a pleasure to coach him in 2013 and 2014 in Colts and into Grade. A fun lovable person that always put his team mates first on and off the field. Thoughts are with all his friends and family at this time. Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate.”

A church service will be held Monday 21 April at 7pm in Erskine Park, with a funeral the following morning in Minchinbury.
